The Church Isn’t a Building

The Church Isn’t a Building

As a church, we’re gearing up for an exciting fall where we RE-UNITE and RE-ENGAGE to REACH OUT. With that goal in mind, what does God say about His church?

Listen as Elder Dave Shumaker preaches a message to energize our hearts for God’s purpose, “The Church Isn’t a Building” based on Matthew 16:17-18, Ephesians 4 & 5, Colossians 3:16-17, and Hebrews 10:25.

Application from Matthew 16:18

  1. Are you a part of Christ’s church?
  2. Do we trust our Savior to build His Church?
  3. Are we committed to Christ’s Church?
  4. Are we committed to helping build God’s church?

Application of Ephesians 4-5 and Colossians 3:16-17

  1. Are you ready to come back to Church?
  2. Are we committed to “being” the Church?

Final Application

• Are you ready to Re-Unite, Re-Engage, and Reach Out?

25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. [Hebrews 10:25]
17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [Matthew 16:17-18]
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. [Colossians 3:16-17]
